Mayo County Council Arts Service - 2025 Funding Opportunities Announced

Mayo County Council Arts Service is pleased to announce the deadline for their annual Grants and Bursaries for 2025.
The deadline is Friday 14th February 2025 at 5pm.
The following grants and bursaries are currently open for applications:
Arts Act Grants: The Arts Act permits a local authority to assist with money, or in kind, events or activities which would, in the opinion of the local authority: stimulate public interest in the arts, promote knowledge, appreciation and practice of the arts or improve the standards of the arts within its functional area. The scheme is open to groups, organisations, festivals in the county seeking support toward the cost of arts events/projects/activities. Applications from individuals are not eligible for funding.
Mayo Artist Bursary: The Artist Bursary Award aims to support the work of professional artists, working in any artform, at all stages of their career, currently resident in Mayo.
Tyrone Guthrie Bursary: Mayo County Council is offering four bursaries to artists living and working in Mayo, to enable them to spend one week at The Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig, County Monaghan. The centre has a variety of workspaces including studios, a music room for composers and musicians, and a large rehearsal and performance space. Applicants should show significant achievement in their chosen field or demonstrate a high degree of promise. This bursary is open to practitioners in all art forms.
UPSTART Grants: UPSTART is an initiative of Mayo County Council’s Arts Service which aims to incentivize quality artistic collaborations between groups/ people with disabilities, artists, arts venues and organisations within County Mayo. The award supports opportunities for people with disabilities to develop arts projects in celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 3rd December. Please note Damien O’Connor is currently on leave.
Drama League of Ireland Summer School Bursary: Two awards will be allocated to groups who demonstrate innovation, quality and creativity in their work. To be eligible, groups must have put on a production in 2024 and be keen to improve the Amateur Drama sector in their local area. Please note, one individual from per group may attend the summer school.
