Notice of Intention to Temporarily Close Roads - N5 Dual Carriageway
Date: 18-03-2025
Mayo County Council gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it intends to close the following roads during the period commencing Tuesday 22nd April 2025 to Friday 02nd May 2025 to facilitate grass cutting to verges.
Note: The above dates represent a window period for the proposed works, the physical road closure is anticipated for up to 5 nights (7PM to 6AM). Advance notification of start date will be provided. Roads will be opened early if works are complete early.

Alternative Routes: Westbound vehicles travelling on the N5 will diverted on to the R309 (Old N5) Eastbound vehicles Travelling on the N5 will diverted on to the R309 (Old N5) Vehicles travelling on the N60/R308 (Breaffy Road) will diverted on to the R309 (Old N5) Vehicles travelling on the N84/R307 (Ballinrobe Road) will diverted on to the R309 (Old N5) |

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Siochana. Emergency access will be maintained.
Any objections/observations should be lodged in writing to the undersigned, not later than 1st April 2025.
