Mayo Road Safety Office urges those partaking in Reek Sunday to stay safe on the roads

Ahead of the Reek Sunday Pilgrimage taking place this Sunday 28th July, 2024, the Mayo Road Safety Office is urging all road users to take care on the roads.
Road Safety Tips:
- Plan your journey. Allow sufficient time to reach your destination and never drive while fatigued.
- Both drivers and passengers are reminded to wear their seat belts.
- Never use your mobile phone while driving, it can distract your focus while driving.
- Stay with in the speed limit and watch out for temporary speed limit reductions you may encounter.
- Never ever drive while under the influence of drink or drugs.
- Please wear high-viz jacket or vest if walking or cycling to the Reek to ensure visibility.
- Make sure you get some refreshments and rest before embarking on your journey home.
- Park in designated parking spaces only and do not block footpaths, access points or disabled parking spots.
