Mayo County Council Calls On Rugby Supporters To Arrive Alive And Park Smart On Saturday
Date: 28-03-2025
Mayo County Council are calling on Connacht and Munster supporters who will be travelling in their thousands to the sell-out United Rugby Championship game in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park to arrive safely and to park in designated car parks or parking spaces on the day.
Parking around Hastings Insurance MacHale Park is limited, and there will be no public parking in the An Sportlann car park.
Patrons are advised to arrive early and obey all Gardaí instructions and stewards on duty inside and outside the grounds. All supporters are asked to obey all byelaws and show consideration for local residents when parking.
Parking by supporters along the N5 is not recommended for health and safety reasons. There will be ample car-parking spaces for supporters within the environs of Castlebar itself.
Mayo County Council would advise all fans who are attending the game to avail of car parking spaces available in Castlebar town centre. A map outlining available car parks in the town has been circulated by Mayo County Council on it’s social media channels.
Supporters are also encouraged to consider using public transport to attend the game with Castlebar Train Station a short walk from Hastings Insurance MacHale Park and bus stops located at Stephen Garvey Way in the town centre.
Mayo County Council warmly welcomes all the supporters coming to Castlebar for the big game and encourages everyone to enjoy this historic day in the town.
