Plea For Motorists To Take Care This St. Patrick's Day

The Road Safety Office in the Communications Department of Mayo County Council has issued a plea for motorists to take care this St Patrick’s Day, in the wake of two people being killed, and others being rushed to hospital after a series of horror crashes in the past few days on County Mayo roads.

Firstly, we want to extend our sympathies to all the families who have been affected by the terrible tragedies over the past few days. Whilst road users this St Patrick’s Day may experience different traffic volumes compared to other years, that does not mean there is any less need to be mindful of the dangers whilst out driving, cycling or walking, so please be careful on our roads no matter what type of road user you are.
