Date: 07-06-2023
As part of the ongoing Public Art Project in Tubber Hill Visual Artist Cathal McCarthy and Writer Mary C Reilly will be running a Visual Art and Rap and Rhyme workshop on the green in Tubber Hill Housing Development on Saturday 24th of June for local residents and friends, young and old. Mary C Reilly Poet will deliver a Rap and Rhyme workshop from 1pm to 2:30pm and from 3-5pm Cathal McCarthy will lead a Collage Art workshop to explore designs and shapes that reflect on life in Tubber Hill. Both events are suitable for all ages.
Several art open days have taken place over the past year as part of the Tubber Hill Public Art Project led by commissioned artist Cathal McCarthy in collaboration with poet Mary C Reilly. Through these workshops the residents and artists have explored the theme of ‘Living on the Hill’. From these participative workshops Cathal has gathered ideas that will help him design a physical artwork that will be installed in Tubber Hill. This artwork will be unique to Tubber Hill and will forge connections to people and place. The artwork will be installed during the summer months and launched in August 2023. Come along on Saturday 24th June to meet the artists and make your contribution to the project. All welcome to attend. Come along and drop into the workshops.
