Date: 29-09-2020
Issued September 29, 2020 - Irish Water working in partnership with Mayo County Council and Source Civil Limited would like to advise customers in the Ballycastle area and customers served by the Carrowmore-Lacken Group Water Scheme of essential watermain works taking place in the area that will improve water supply for residents and businesses.
These works are being carried out as part of an essential project which will connect the Ballycastle Public Water Supply to the Ballina Regional Water Supply Scheme benefiting 360 local residents and businesses.
There will be short water supply disruptions due to these essential works on the following dates:
October 1 – Ballycastle East District Meter Area from 9am to 1pm;
October 5 – Carrowmore-Lacken GWS from 9am to 1pm;
October 7 - Ballycastle West and East District Meter Area from 4pm to 7pm.
Most customers should have their normal water supply restored by 1pm but in high lying areas or outlying areas it may take a little while longer for water to return to the network.
Irish Water understands the inconvenience when an outage occurs and thanks customers in advance for their patience while these essential connections are made. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. For updates please see the water supply and services section of our website.
Irish Water continues to work at this time with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services. Irish Water would like to remind people to follow the HSE COVID-19 advice and ensure frequent handwashing.
