The Cong ‘Hands’ programme recognises people for ‘doing more than their share to promote Mayo / Ireland and Irish culture’

This years recipient is Singer Tony Christie, travelling with family and friends from the UK. Tony's Grandparents both came from County Mayo.

Tony will arrive in tCong on Friday 31st May and will perform the first of his duties at 10pm when he switches on the light, installed at the world-famous Quiet Man Statue which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

On Saturday 1st June, at 2:30 pm after an exclusive press reception at Ashford Castle, he will be inducted into The Cong Hands of Fame wall and will unveil a bronze mould of his hands.
