Social Work Department (Tusla Child & Family Agency)

Social Workers work with families when there is a concern about the welfare, protection or safety of a child or there is a concern that the child has been the victim of abuse or neglect. If you have a concern that a child may have been, is being, or is at risk of being abused or neglected, you should contact your local Tusla Social Worker. The Mayo Social Work offices are based in Ballina, Castlebar and Swinford. A person may contact a Social Worker by telephone, in writing or in person. A Social Worker is available in each office, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. If you believe a child is at an immediate risk and is outside of office hours, please contact An Garda Síochána.
