Dreamcatcher Project
General outdoor recreation and riding stables for people of all abilities and ages. We specialise in adaptive horse riding and as an equine facilitator centre, we see horse riding and equestrianism as a lifestyle rather that sporting opportunities, giving a chance to learn about all aspects of equestrianism in participants' timeframes, pace and suitable to their abilities or limitations in one -to - one sessions and social events.
We organise one-to-one training sessions and riding lessons for children from 6 years old and adults of all ages, we believe a person can be too young to ride but never too old! We facilitate equestrian activities for people with mental, physical and communication limitations as well as a social Stable Club for school-age children who like to spend their days on a working equestrian farm. We also have walking club called Ramble in a Bramble, leading school age children for hikes and adventures.
The Dreamcatcher Project shall aim to promote healthy and safe relationships with animals while teaching people how to commune with animals responsibly and without fear. We will provide specific activities, and promote and educate about the therapeutic effects of horse riding and horsemanship including bareback riding for persons regardless of their ethnic origin, nationality, status, age, physical and mental health issues, additional needs or any other personal challenges and limitations. We shall offer individually crafted recreational horse riding and horsemanship training sessions without the pressure of competing or reaching milestones just for the benefit of mental and physical well-being to all people including disadvantaged groups. We shall promote horse riding as a pleasure and fun activity to create healthy and safe horsemanship and also as a life commitment with full respect given to the animal instead of seeing it as a sport or business opportunity. By the given example and voluntary working with local animal sanctuaries and charities, we shall promote, educate and provide guidance for people willing to participate in re-homing and long-term animal fostering programmes instead of supporting further breeding of unwanted animals. As some of our volunteers and staff are multilingual and have nationalities other than Irish we will provide our services and educational activities to multicultural and bilingual minorities, making every effort to accommodate foreign-speaking residents of Ireland, enable them to overcome difficulties with language barrier and social exclusion, helping them to commune with others and help them to become more active and productive within the whole society. We would like to reinforce outdoor activities as a part of a leisure routine, especially for school-age children and young adults by creating a safe and comfortable environment for them to unwind and socialise with peers without the pressure of competing, judging and collecting trophies. We believe that our children, youths and adults are forced to compete and challenge themselves enough in every other aspect of their lives, so Dreamcatcher Project dedicated its facility to helping people relax, unwind, and restore their mental capabilities and emotional balance through various outdoor activities and horsemanship.
