**Over 30 Events Mark a Successful European Week of Sport 2024 in Mayo**
Mayo Sports Partnership is delighted to announce the resounding success of this year’s European Week of Sport, which saw over 30 events hosted across the county from the 23rd to 30th of September. The week-long celebration encouraged people of all ages and abilities to get involved, #BeActive, and embrace the joy of physical activity.
A standout event was the **Activator Walk** held on Friday, 27th September, in Ballycroy. Over 25 eager walkers, in partnership with Sláintecare Mayo and Wild Nephin Visitor Centre, took part in this uplifting event. With scenic views and a sense of community, the walk was a true reflection of this year’s themes of **Inclusion, Well-being, and Belonging**, bringing people together to move and connect with nature.
From kayaking, walking football, and inclusive fitness programmes to rugby come-and-try sessions, pétanque, and swimming classes, the events offered something for everyone. Mayo Sports Partnership’s Autumn Calendar of Events truly came to life, providing opportunities for both regular participants and newcomers to experience the benefits of sport and physical activity.
