Irish Water and Mayo County Council working to repair major burst in Ballina
Date: 13-10-2020
Irish Water and Mayo County Council wish to advise customers in Ballina that their water supply has been impacted as a result of a burst water main at the Dunnes Stores Roundabout.
Crews are currently attending the site and carrying out the emergency repairs. The junction of Humbert Street and Lower Pearse Street is also impacted. There will be a reduced supply of water and pressure in the areas of Pearse Street, Humbert Street, Nally Street, Castlecourt and Beleek. Surrounding areas will see reduced pressure up to 4pm today.
Traffic diversions are in place at Dunnes Stores Car Park to New Brook Road and down Nally Street and there is a one-way system for traffic from the N59/Dillon Terrace through Humbert Street and Pearse Street.
It is expected that the repairs will be completed by this evening but it may take 3-4 hours for normal supply to return to all impacted customers.
Irish Water and Mayo County Council understands the inconvenience when an outage occurs and thanks customers in advance for their patience while these essential repairs are made. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries.
