Portfolio Preparation Day in Westport

When: Saturday November 16th from 1pm to 4pm.

Where: Custom House Studio Westport

Who: Facilitated by John Brady, Sinead Wall and Joanna Hopkins

What:  For second level students in 4th to 6th Year who are considering applying for a third level visual art course.

This information day will provide students with the opportunity to visit an art gallery, participate in a guided tour of the exhibition and learn from artists and academics specialising in visual art practices.

Your portfolio is your opportunity to show your creative abilities to Post Leaving Cert and 3rd level courses. On the day, students will learn how to best prepare a portfolio, what to include in a portfolio and how best to present your work.

John Brady is a visual artist and has been a lecturer in ATU for the last 27 years. He teaches on the MA In Contemporary Art Practice, the BA Honours and Part-Time Degree and also the First-Year program. 

Sinéad Wall joined the staff of WCFE in 2007 and is presently teaching Printmaking, History and Appreciation of Art and Design, Fine Art Photography, Scriptwriting and Work Experience modules.

Joanna Hopkins is an Irish artist working in video, collage, drawing, photography and installation. She has a research-based practice, often working site specifically, and has exhibited across Ireland, the UK, Europe, China and the US.
