Public Notice under Chemicals Act (Control of Major Accidents Hazards Involving Dangerous Substances) Regulations 2015

An Garda Síochána, the Health Service Executive and Mayo County Council are required by the above mentioned regulations to prepare plans to deal with effects off-site and to assist, where relevant, with the emergency response on-site in the event of a major accident at:
- Bellanaboy Bridge Gas Terminal, Bellagelly South, Barnatra, Ballina, Co. Mayo
- European Refreshments, Killala Road, Ballina, Co. Mayo
Draft copies of the External Emergency Plans are available for examination for a period of 4 weeks from 27th January 2025 to 21st February 2025 (excluding weekends and bank holidays) during the hours of 09:30am – 1pm and 2pm – 4:30pm at the following locations:
- Primary Care Business Managers Office, Community Healthcare West, HSE, First Floor, St. Mary’s Headquarters, Castlebar, Co. Mayo
- Ballina Garda Station, Lord Edward Street, Ballina, Co. Mayo
- Belmullet Garda Station, Fr. Mulhern Crescent, Belmullet, Co. Mayo
- Mayo Fire Service, Fire Brigade HQ, Humbert Way, Castlebar, Co. Mayo
Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed External Emergency Plans may be made in writing to the Seveso Planning Group, Mayo Fire Service, Fire Brigade HQ, Humbert Way, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, F23 V089 or by emailing sevesoplanninggroup@mayococo.ie no later than 4:30pm on Friday, 28th February 2025.
