National Poetry Day. Writing Workshop: My Favourite Poem.
National Poetry Day. What's Your Favorite Poem? Is it one you learned in school? Is it a line or two you heard somewhere? Is it a Psalm or a Prayer? Is it a few lines from a story or a book? Or something you heard somewhere. To celebrate National Poetry Day 2025, a writing workshop using our favourite poem or lines as starting pionts is being offered. Would you like to try your hand and pen at writing? A 2.5-hour workshop using your own favourite poem to get you started. No writing experience necessary at all just some curiosity, a pen, paper, and some time. You will be invited to bring a poem or a piece of prose you like, and it will be used to get you started. This workshop is for those who have never written, have written a bit, or would just like to give it a go. And if you don’t have a favourite poem, you can still come. Numbers strictly limited to 8/10 participants. This will be a safe, confidential, encouraging working space. The poems or prose should not be long, if they are we will use 10-12 lines or a part of them. Date:30/4/2025 Time: 7 -9.30pm Venue: Crossmolina Community Centre. Fee:10 euro. Facilitator: Ruth MacNeely Ruth is a former counsellor, trainer and teacher who used writing exercises for both herself and for clients individually and in groups.
