Many everyday household products such as medicines, cleaning agents, pesticides, paints and batteries contain hazardous components. When these items become a waste they have the potential to cause serious environmental pollution.

These items should never be placed in waste bins or poured down sinks, toilets or drains.

Contact your local pharmacy about taking back your old medicines.

Items of household hazardous waste should be stored safely and brought to Mayo County Council’s Civic Amenity Centres for safe disposal.
