Coastal Sustainability Action Plans
The COAST project seeks to deliver practical guidance for coastal local authorities to support resilience building and coastal sustainability in line with the United Nation's Sustainable Develpment Goals. These will be in the local demonstration sites – Westfjord (Iceland), Hailuoto (Finland), Rathlin Island (Northern Ireland), and Mayo (Ireland). These sustainability action palns highlight oportunities in "Smart Blue Growth". SMART is a practical mitigation, planning and communications tool based on the principles of Sustainability, Mitigation, Adaptation, Resilience, and Transition.
