Stategic Environmental Assessment Update:
A Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) screening determination has been made in repect of Castlebar LTP under the European Communities (Environmental Asssessment of Certain Plans & Programmes) Regulations 2004 / 2011.
The SEA screening process determines whether a full SEA is required, it must assess whether the LTP is likely to have significant effect on the environment. The Plan has been tested against a number of criteria as set out in the regulations and it has been determined that the LTP for Castlebar does not require a full SEA, therefore the LTP can now progress to the next stage of the development process.
The LTP will guide future transport investment with specific focus on sustainable and active travel, making it easier and safer for people to walk and cycle around Castlebar town and have better access to public transport.
