Gaeltacht Scholarship Scheme 2025
Summer 2025: 3rd year, TY and 5th year students
Mayo County Council is currently offering two full scholarships for Mayo students to attend the following summer Gaeltacht courses:
Current 3rd year and TY students
Cúrsa F, Coláiste Uisce
Dates: 15 - 23 August.

Current 5th year students
Cúrsa E, Coláiste Mhuigheo
Dates: 28 July - 10 August 2025

Parents and students are encouraged to visit the course provider websites before applying to ensure the college is a good fit for their needs and interests.
Terms and Conditions
- Students resident in Mayo or attending school in Mayo may apply. Successful applicants will be required to provide proof they meet this condition.
- Courses are only open to the specific year groups mentioned. Successful applicants will be required to provide proof of their school year.
- Students with very basic to advanced levels of Irish are welcome to apply.
- All matters relating to students' welfare while attending the course will remain the responsibility of the Gaeltacht college in question.
- Please note that many course activities are based on water sports. Students do not need to be able to swim but should be comfortable in the water.
- The scholarship recipients will be chosen from the eligible applications by means of draw. Mayo County Council will make contact with the successful applicants in late May. A notice will be placed on our website confirming the draw has taken place.
- Scholarships are non-transferable.
- Only one application per student will be accepted. Multiple entries will disqualify.
- If applying on behalf of more than one student (eg siblings) please complete separate forms.
- Previous scholarship recipients are ineligible to apply.
- Successful applicants will be required to attend a scholarship presentation, which will include photography.

The deadline for applications is 23:59 on Sunday May 25th. Late applications will not be accepted.

Easter Scholarships 2025
The draw for the 2025 Easter Scholarships took place in March 2025. The recipients of this year's scholarship were:
