Renewing Your Motor Tax

Renewals

You can renew the tax on your vehicle in person, by post or online.

Please note that motor tax can only be paid in periods of 3, 6 or 12 CALENDAR months.  Accordingly, all tax discs commence on the 1st day of a calendar month and end on the last day of a calendar month.  If a vehicle is used in a public place for even one day in a calendar month then motor tax is due for that calendar month.

You can renew your motor tax anytime during the month of expiry of your current motor tax disc. You can renew in person at the office or by post by submitting your completed application together with fee and relevant documentation to the addresses available at our contact page

Note: If vehicle is changing ownership motor tax/arrears are due from date of sale or if the vehicle has been declared off road from the current month in which you want to tax the vehicle.
