Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP) – Community Consultation
Mayo County Council is currently preparing a Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP) for the period 2023 - 2029
The LECP is a six-year plan setting out objectives and actions needed in Co Mayo to:
- Promote and support local and community development &
- Promote and support economic development
We need your help
We would like to hear your views on the draft high-level goals and the sustainable community and economic objectives set out within it, alongside your desired outcomes and vision for Mayo. We want to hear your thoughts, ideas and actions on how to improve neighbourhoods, communities and local economies for all who live, work in and visit Mayo.
You can participate in the following ways;
1. View and provide feedback on the Socio-Economic Statement
As part of the first step to inform our new plan Mayo County Council have prepared a Socio-Economic statement which can at the link below
or viewed at the following locations from Monday 28th October to Friday 15th November, 2024.

2. Attend Community Consultation
This consultation will seek the views of people living in the four Municipal District (MD) areas of Co. Mayo, as well as representatives from the public, private and community sectors
A series of public consultation events will take place throughout Mayo at the following locations.

3. Complete Online Survey
As part of this consultation phase, a survey has been created to capture your views in relation to the high-level goals which will help shape the direction of the next LECP. This survey can be found at the link below. It will be open until 3pm on Friday 15th November 2024.
