The Atlantic Bike Project
The Atlantic on Bike project is a transnational project which seeks to create an iconic long-distance cycle route along the Atlantic coast between Norway and Portugal. In Ireland, the project seeks to develop a 700km cycling route between Mayo and Donegal, including new services for cyclists and development of pilot interventions to enable the future development of a national route. Mayo has a fully signed route.
Bicycle Repair & Pump Station
A bicycle repair and pump station has been installed beside the cycle lane on the Quay Road in Ballina. Funded through the Atlantic on Bike project, it is one of four in Mayo, located along the Eurovelo 1 route in Mayo, including The Quay Road, Ballina, Thompson's Cottage, along the greenway near Newport, Mulranny Station House, and Asleagh Falls.
