Spanish Armada View Point
Small gravel surfaced layby adjacent to the Clew Bay coastal road against the backdrop of Corraun Hill (524m). Exceptional views south across Clew Bay and south west to Clare Island. Strong historical resonance with the Spanish Armada, five ships of which floundered off the Mayo coast in 1588. These include; the San Nicolas Prodaneli and El Gran Grin, both of which sank at the mouth of Clew Bay.
