Dugort Beach
Also known as Pollawaddy Strand, this expansive sandy beach with surrounding hilly terrain is set against the backdrop of the neighbouring Slievemore Mountain (672m). Much of the lower slopes of the surrounding hills are heavily grazed by sheep with some eroded down to mineral soil.
Small areas of sand dune and machair are also found at Doogort Beach. Doogort Beach is popular with families as it is ideal for swimming/bathing and has a fairly exposed beach break with a reasonably consistent surf at all times of the year.
